Learn about volunteering at LNFY
At Lost-n-Found Youth, volunteers are essential to our success. There are opportunities for everyone to be involved in the work we are doing to end homelessness for Atlanta's LGBTQ youth. We welcome individuals and groups to sort donations at our thrift store, serve a meal at the youth center, engage in street outreach, and more. For more information, contact Ashley Robinson, Volunteer and Development Coordinator at email@example.com.
Our Volunteer Programs
We provide volunteer orientations prior to welcoming new members of the community to help us with our mission. Orientations last about an hour. You will learn more about the history of our organization and discover ways in which you can give your time to help end homelessness for Atlanta’s LGBTQ youth. Volunteers who wish to work directly with clients are asked to consent to a background check. We encourage everyone who consents to a background check to make a suggested $20 donation to cover the cost associated with background checks.
If you would like to host a volunteer orientation for your employee resource group, school group, or faith community, or to schedule group volunteer activities, contact Ashley Robinson, Volunteer and Development Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (470) 346-0389.
The next volunteer orientation will be:
Tuesday, March 17 at 12pm – This volunteer orientation will take place at the youth center.
Tuesday, March 17 at 7pm – This orientation will take place at the youth center.
The youth center is located at Park Avenue Baptist Church, 486 Park Ave. SE. Fill out the RSVP form below for the February orientation.
Our street outreach volunteers work with our Outreach Coordinator to reach youth on the streets experiencing homelessness so that they know our services are available.
Our youth center volunteers assist the youth center staff by assisting with check-in, serving meals, engaging clients in coversation, and leading enrichment programs.
The thrift store staff can always use a few extra hands processing and sorting the intake of donated items to the store. The best part is that you can volunteer at the thrift store any time during business hours without first attending an orientation. Have an hour to spare? We can always use some help sorting donations!
We engage volunteers at our transitional house to help with overnight needs. We also host groups at the transitional house to do minor repairs and yard projects.
